Traditional indium tin oxide (ITO) films produce products which are brittle & inflexible. By using silver nanowires we can produce films which are highly flexible and resilient, proving a more stable and durable product.

What Are Silver Nanowires?

Nanowires are nanostructures with a diameter in the range of nanometer 10^-9 m. They have high aspect ratios; hence they are commonly referred to as one-dimensional nanomaterials. Silver nanowires have distinct optical, electrical, and thermal properties and are being incorporated into a wide range of products.

They are incredibly efficient at absorbing and scattering light and are characterized by analytical techniques such as scanning electron microscopy, transmission electron microscopy, and atomic force microscopy.

Nanowires are implemented in our conductive inks and conductive films to create a variety of different products and applications.

Silver Nanowires Technical Properties

Ultra-thin Silver nanowires synthesized by Nano Cintech under our patent, have high aspect ratios free of silver nanoparticles, with high uniformity in length and diameter. Networks for electrical conductivity can be easily formed by applying them on a substrate. This type (AgNWs-20-L) of silver nanowires is useful to fabricate flexible, low haze (less than 1% for sheet resistance of 100 ohm/Sq.) and high transparent conductive films for opto-electrical applications. AgNWs-20-M and AgNWs-20-S are useful as fillers in conductive inks and conductive adhesives.

Silver Nanowires Product Applications

Touchscreen Technology

At Nano Cintech we are able to produce highly conductive silver nanowire products which hold highly transparent (90%+) properties using very long metal nanowires. In microscopic view, there are several nanowires which are overlapped in the contact area and can form high electrical conductivity through percolation network. Moreover, the transparency could be highly enhanced by using very long and thin nanowires which make them almost invisible in macroscopic scale.

The conductive properties of our silver nanowires make them perfect for products such as touch screens for smartphones, tablets, computers, and wearable electronics. The fact that these wires are also flexible when applied to a film substrate means that screens produced using silver nanowires are more resilient and less prone to shattering.

Flexible and Bendable Screens

Silver Nanowires are currently the most preferred material for the preparation of flexible transparent conductive films. These films are the best alternative to traditional materials like indium tin oxide films (ITO films) due to their superior properties over metal oxide films. Many manufacturers are now using this technology to create flexible or bendable electronics. Design implementations and development for touchscreen products takes a whole new direction when using silver nanowires.

Anti-Bacterial & Anti-Viral Masks

Silver nanowires continuously release ions, which kills bacteria and viruses. Using silver nanowires in masks means that they will have the ability to actually kill the bacteria and viruses. Other commonly used mask cannot kill viruses and bacteria, they only serve to catch them. This means that using these types of masks can reduce the spread of the Coronavirus.

As a results silver nanowire masks can be used for much longer that regular masks and their ability to be washed without losing effectiveness means that you can get multiple uses out of one mask.

Using Nano silverwires on a very fine substrate can also block cigarette smoke and foul smells. That is very useful to fabricate mask in cities with high pollution.
